Deep within our cellars our wines have lots of time to ripen. In order for our wines to reach perfection in the glass and that they can still retain this quality for many years to come, we store our wines in dark, cool, moist vaulted cellars in aged "Fuderfassen", - large wood barrels of 1,000-liter capacity.
These old oaken containers are made from wood from forests in our area and are as much as 50 years old. Because of their age, they impart no wood taste to the wine. Nevertheless, they serve well, providing optimal storage, contributing markedly to the evolution of our wines in reaching their greatest potential.
There about 150 such wooden barrels in our wine cellar.
